1. Take a blank piece of paper and place flat on the floor. 
2. Stand on the piece of paper with your shoes and socks off. 
3. Place a mark on the paper at the heel and at the tip of the longest toe. 
4. Measure this distance and use the measurements in the size chart page to establish your size. If your measurement is in between sizes go up a size rather than down. Note that Birkis are designed to be worn loose rather than fitted like regular footwear. You should have a few milimetres space in the heel and toe areas. Your toes should not touch the cork wall at the front nor should your heel touch the back. This will improve the longevity of your Birkenstocks.
